Weather
Permitting investigates
the phenomena of weather, from tornadoes in trailer
parks to drifting ice shelves in the Antarctic. The
project focuses on the culture and technologies of
communication that are used to capture and transmit
weather events.
Conducted
by Kathryn Yusoff and Jennifer Gabrys, two researchers with
experience in geography, communications and landscape art,
Weather Permitting considers the energy and excesses of modern-day
climates gone awry.

Weather Permitting consists of six research areas, listed
on this page; and fieldwork in sites ranging from the Arctic to the Antarctic; and from Iceland to the Mojave
Desert in
California.
