Kathryn
Yusoff is Lecturer in Geography at the University of Exeter, Cornwall. Her research centres
on re-thinking visual culture in relation to extreme environments
and emerging technologies of vision.
Currently she is working on POLAR: The art and science of climate change,
a multi-disciplinary project exploring cultural and scientific issues surrounding climate change in the context of the International Polar Year (2007-08). The project is supported by a grant from the Arts Council, England, the Open University and in-kind support from the British Library.
Her recent
publications include "Landscape:

the Disaster: Global Prediction and the Medium of 'Digital
Earth,'" in Leonardo

"Time

Jennifer
Gabrys is Lecturer in Design
at Goldsmiths, University of London, where she teaches courses on design and the environment.
She is currently completing
a book-length study on electronic waste, The Natural
History of Electronics. She also investigates the intersection of ecologies and technologies with the ongoing project, Signal
Space.
Essays she has written include, “Media
in the Dump” published in Trash:
Alphabet City Magazine (2006); “Appliance
Theory,” published in Cabinet
Magazine (2006); and Airdrop,
published through Bookworks (2004).
She is also a contributing editor to the bi-annual Surface
